How the Laboratory works

  1. Anyone with a verified account can participate. Proposals must explain a distinct research question, their foundations and what remains hypothetical.
  2. Submit up to three proposals per edition. Submissions received after day 20 enter the next edition. Pending admissions also move forward without losing the proposal.
  3. Admission closes at the start of day 22 UTC. Voting runs from day 22 until the first instant of the following month.
  4. You have ten supports per edition, one per proposal. You can withdraw and reassign them until closing. You cannot support your own proposals.
  5. The ten most supported eligible proposals are selected after editorial review. Each needs at least one valid external support. If fewer qualify, fewer are selected.
  6. Tied candidates share a rank. At the final place, foundations, originality and clarity (0–5 each) break ties, followed by submission order.
  7. Results are reviewed during days 1–7 of the next month, with publication targeted by day 15. Selection does not establish scientific validity.
  8. The candidate revision is frozen. Further changes remain private until reviewed. Unselected proposals can be developed and submitted again with new supports.
  9. Your public name identifies your contribution within FutureSciences. A photo and country are optional. The original proposal remains linked from the published science.
  10. Manipulated supports can be invalidated with an audited reason. Sharing an internet connection is not by itself grounds for exclusion.
